Chapter 260: Run Jason!
Chapter 260: Run Jason!
Jason froze in place, he didn’t know what to do, he couldn’t believe that he found himself in this situation despite being so cautious.
"Go!" A voice urged him on, Jason returned to his senses and saw it was Rachel urging him to run but there was no way he could leave her there.
"But..." Jason tried to speak but he was interrupted by Rachel.
There was no doubt that Allison was dead but she knew that Jason must have an explanation for what had happened.
She was aware that the guard hadn’t seen what he was carrying thanks to what he had said.
This meant he had only seen Jason and her, the last thing she needed was for Jason to be caught.
"GO JASON!" Rachel urged him before walking in the guard’s direction. Jason hated he was doing this but he had no choice.
He dashed in the opposite direction, the guard wanted to call out to command him to stop but Rachel had to bring her acting skills to life.
"Hey, you! Why the hell are you screaming? Don’t you know people are asleep!? Goddamn it, what does a lady have to do to get some time alone around here!" Rachel barked.
The man knew who she was the moment she was close enough, she was a respected member of the community and he almost felt embarrassed for calling out in the manner he did.
"I-I apologize ma’am but it is past curfew," The guard’s tone changed upon realizing who it was he was talking to.
"It is? I can’t believe time got away from me again," Rachel said with an embarrassed smile.
The man’s eyes quickly glanced over at the figure he had seen but he met nothing.
"What’s wrong?" Rachel asked.
"There was another person with you, wasn’t there?" The man questioned, pointing his flashlight in that direction.
"It is a trick of the light, let me show you," Rachel said, stepping in front of the flashlight only to have her shadow loom long.
The man had no reason to doubt her because she had no reason to lie to him and the distance was to her advantage as well.
The guard had no plans of arguing and took a step back.
"You should head home, we have reports of suspicious activities," The man’s fading voice informed her.
Rachel didn’t think much of this because the worst was over but she wondered what it was that Allison could have done to have Jason kill her.
This was something that she needed answers to, it felt like she didn’t know who Jason was anymore and she could very well be right.
She wished she had never come here but if she wasn’t here, there was no doubt that a confrontation would have occurred.
Jason would have run into that guard with no one to cover for him, leaving him trapped.
Rachel couldn’t help but think that she was meant to be here but without even thinking about it, she became an accessory to murder.
Allison might have been a threat but Jason had no right to be an executioner, for someone that tried to hold onto how the world once was.
This was a vast contradiction but Jason didn’t care.

Jason managed to get away from the area but he had to be careful as he was out in the open.
He needed to find a way to scale the walls and dispose of her body properly or he risked it being found.
Jason didn’t know where Bella was but it was safe to say that Allison might have gotten rid of her. A wrong assessment but Jason was unaware of this.
[[Three guards approaching...]]
Chronos warned him and this prompted Jason to drop her body and temporarily cover it in dirt.
It did the job before heading out to confront the guards.
"Sir, we have this area covered. You can leave the work to us," One of the men assured Jason.
Jason held a higher rank than them and they understood that his work was important.
He didn’t need to overwork himself with the less insignificant roles that they could handle.
"Hahaha! It is fine, you guys should head over to the wall... I think we need to focus there, we don’t know if others want what we have," Jason reminded them.
These words seemed to strike a chord in them as they headed to the walls without protesting, leaving Jason alone in that area.
Jason heaved a sigh of relief, he walked over to where he kept the body and picked it up.
He told them to head to the walls despite having to sneak out, this might not have been considered smart in the conventional sense.
Jason didn’t mind this because he planned to take Allison back to his place where he could chop her up into smaller pieces.
This would not only make it easier to dispose of her but it would also help in him walking past the gates without suspicion.
Jason headed back home, the calm on his face, he expected himself to be panicking or something along those lines.
Yet he could think rationally, he knew what he had to do and his body was moving based on that thought without any hesitation.
He didn’t know what this was but he loved it, Jason couldn’t believe that he was about to do what he planned to do as he had only seen it in movies.
He dropped her in his tub upon getting home and went to work, it took little to no time with his sword to cut her into pieces and keep in a garbage bag that was neatly placed inside a duffel bag.
He took a deep breath and he was already exhausted from the fact that he would have to explain what had happened to Rachel.
She was the last person he needed to see right now but if she found him, that meant she came to his house but for what?
However, Rachel did save his behind there as she had no reason to do what she did but this showed him that she trusted his choices without even understanding them.
Jason had taken a bold step and with this step, abandoned the old and embraced the new.
