Chapter 1879 - 1882: A Difficult Problem 1
Chao Lu’s demeanor and behavior are open and honest, not embarrassed at all by Gu Qianqian’s revelation. On the contrary, he openly smiled at her: "I was downstairs waiting for luck to strike for two hours, thinking of how to ask you to have dinner. I didn’t expect the sky to act as a matchmaker in the end. I wasted quite a few brain cells."
He’s quite honest, indeed.
Suddenly, Gu Qianqian didn’t feel like criticizing anymore; she liked men who are straightforward.
"I need to go home to change shoes. Didn’t you see what a mess I am? Going out for dinner like this would be embarrassing."
Chao Lu nodded and drove the car straight to her doorstep.
"Did you even investigate where I live?" This man must have put some thought into this.
"No investigation needed."
Chao Lu got out first, held the umbrella, walked around the car to the passenger side, opened the door to greet her, escorted her to the door, and quietly stood under the eaves, not going inside, like a bodyguard.
Gu Qianqian raised her eyebrows, went straight into the house without inviting him in, leaving him standing under the eaves.
He stood there for a whole hour, not moving a muscle, not awkward at all, looking around the environment with interest as if he was already used to waiting indefinitely for a woman.
Not until two hours later did Gu Qianqian, freshly showered, styled, and dressed, eventually step out.
Doesn’t this man’s legs go numb?
Gu Qianqian secretly wondered.
Chao Lu naturally opened the umbrella, noticing she seemed to have dressed up, a slight, subtle smile appeared on his lips as he ushered her back into the car.
"Do you plan to invite me to dinner bare-chested?"
Chao Lu turned his head, already driving through the rain, "So I’ll have to trouble you to accompany me to buy a set of clothes." Then he added, "I trust your taste."
Gu Qianqian: "..." I really talk too much.
Finally, she took Chao Lu to a high-end store, owned by Hua Hua, the clothes in the store mostly crafted by him.
As soon as Gu Qianqian entered, the manager came up to greet her, noticing the half-naked man behind her with a smile, "Miss Qianxi, welcome."
Gu Qianqian smiled and nodded, wandered around the store, and eventually spotted a set of three-piece suits she thought would suit the man; he has a good figure and would carry off the outfit well.
The manager quickly went to get the outfit, "This set should fit that gentleman, would you like to try it?"
"Hmm." Gu Qianqian turned around and found Chao Lu right behind her, silently; he almost startled her, "What do you think?"
"Your taste should be good. I’ll try it." Saying that, he politely took the clothes from the manager.
Only then did Gu Qianqian think to ask: "I still don’t know your name."
Chao Lu turned seconds before entering the fitting room, smiling subtly at her: "Chao Lu."
Chao Lu?
Gu Qianqian paid no mind, sat on the sofa, and casually picked up a fashion magazine.
...
"If you want to participate in the next Skull Society president election, you must first dismiss one. Otherwise, having a bad record in Skull Society loses presidential eligibility, and all our preliminary efforts will be for naught." Bai Wuqing frowned tightly, Gu Shaocheng also looked displeased; the two were undecided over a game of chess.
"I know, but the timing is inconvenient, with a whole month in between, it’s really difficult."
