Chapter 1042 - 989: George Leaves
"Sixth Master, Owen Hunter and his wife are here," Marion reported to Adrian Desmond.
Adrian was playing on the swings with three children when Curly noticed his dad wasn’t pushing him anymore and shouted, "Dad, hurry and push me! I want to fly high!"
"George’s mom and dad are here. We can play later."
"Oh."
"Come on, let’s go see your Uncle George."
"Dad, take George to see his parents. I’ll play with Little Monster," Curly said, having no intention of meeting George’s parents.
Aria Harris didn’t like her, so Curly wasn’t going to make herself unwelcome.
Curly jumped off the swing and pushed Little Monster from behind. Sheehan’s swing was seat-style with a bumper in the front, so he wasn’t afraid of falling.
"We’ll play later." Adrian couldn’t trust the two kids on the swing together; if anything happened, Sienna Johnson wouldn’t forgive him.
"Let Marion accompany us."
"Alright then." Seeing Curly was unwilling to go, Adrian didn’t insist.
Adrian instructed Marion on a few things, gave a reassuring glance to the kids, and then left with George.
...
In the reception room, Adrian entered with George. Owen rose and gave Adrian a big hug. As they parted, Owen patted Adrian’s shoulder and said,
"Adrian, thank you so much for taking care of my son."
"No need to be so formal."
Aria also expressed her gratitude. Upon hearing that Aria was pregnant, Adrian extended his congratulations.
"We’re hoping for a gentle and beautiful daughter this time," Owen said, filled with anticipation for the child in Aria’s belly.
Adrian took a sip of tea and said, "Hope your wishes come true."
"Adrian, when do you plan to return to Abyanabad?" Owen asked.
"I can’t go back for now."
"What?"
"Sienna’s business is quite busy, and the child is still very young, so we’ll be staying here temporarily," Adrian explained.
Aria glanced at Adrian, truly amazed at the differences in fate between people. A woman like Sienna Johnson is truly something, taming a man like Adrian to be so obedient.
A mother so capable naturally has a daughter who won’t be weak.
Aria looked at her silly son and sighed.
"That’s perfect. My son needs to stay in Sileria City. When Aria and I aren’t around, I’d appreciate your looking after him."
"George not going back to Abyanabad?" Adrian looked at George in surprise and asked.
What does this mean?
Is he going to live with them permanently?
The child is young and easy to manage, but when he grows up, living with them and constantly calling him father-in-law would be quite a situation.
His precious daughter will get married someday.
"Aria’s father is getting old, and we’re worried about him living alone, so we’re letting George stay with his grandpa.
Just them, the old and the young, so we need you to look after them."
"Why not bring them to Abyanabad?"
"Why don’t you bring your wife to Abyanabad?" Owen retorted.
Adrian asked, "How do you want me to take care of them? I’m often busy, and I’m afraid I won’t have much energy."
"If they ever face difficulties, just help solve them."
"No problem," Adrian readily agreed.
Owen glanced at his son, who smiled at her. Owen asked, "Where are Curly and your son? I haven’t seen them."
"They’re playing on the swings in the garden."
Aria took out a little bear diamond necklace and placed it on the table, saying, "I heard Curly loves diamonds, so I bought her a little bear diamond necklace. I hope she likes it."
"Thank you," Adrian thanked on behalf of his daughter.
"So, we’ll take George back today."
"Alright."
Aria accompanied George to pack his things, while Owen and Adrian chatted in the reception room. With the women absent, they spoke without reservations.
"Staying in Sileria City for a woman?"
"Yes."
"With your parents deceased, it doesn’t matter where you live. Unlike me, I still have parents at home. I need to consider their views on many things. Leaving George in Sileria City this time, going back home, my father will probably scold me again," Owen said wistfully.
"An old man and child living together, are you comfortable with that? I advise you to bring them to Abyanabad."
"You think I don’t want that? The old man is highly stubborn, refusing to leave. He claims he’d rather die at home. My son, you know, is head over heels for your daughter and refuses to return to Abyanabad."
George didn’t have much; Aria quickly packed him up, and Owen also said goodbye.
Adrian personally escorted them to the door, watching them get in the car and leave.
...
In the car, Owen drove, while Aria and George sat in the back seat. Their son only had a handbag.
Owen asked, "I remember when you moved into the Johnson Family’s place, you took a big suitcase with you. Why is it a handbag when you’re leaving?"
"I’ll be moving back in anyway."
Owen: ...
...
In the Johnson Family garden,
Adrian informed his daughter about George leaving, and Curly looked quite sad.
Leaving isn’t supposed to make you happy, right? Why this expression? Could it be that his daughter likes George?
"Are you reluctant for George to leave?"
"Yes."
Adrian looked at his daughter and cautiously asked, "Could it be you like George?"
Curly looked at her father and blinked, "Dad, are you misunderstanding something?"
"Why the sad face then?"
"Now there’s less income. Should I not feel sad... Ah, with George leaving, I can’t take pictures of him to make money anymore."
Adrian: ...
Kathryn walked over, greeting Adrian, "Sixth Master..."
"Hmm." Adrian nodded.
Kathryn handed Curly a package, "Such a big package, what did you buy online again?"
"It’s my superhero outfit."
Curly opened it, and it was indeed her purchased superhero outfit. The little bit of sadness over losing income with George leaving was blown away in the wind.
"Dad, this is the outfit I bought for you. You should try it and see if it looks good."
Adrian was deeply touched; besides Sienna buying him clothes, another woman had bought him clothes. Although the outfit was a bit strange.
"Curly, thank you. Dad is very moved."
"Hehe..."
Adrian put on the superhero outfit, feeling a bit embarrassed. His certain area was too large, and this tight outfit made that particular spot stand out.
In front of his daughter, Adrian kept his posture small to minimize the presence of that spot.
