System Of The Undead

Chapter 58: Zombie Run

Chapter 58: Zombie Run

Sam and Jason rushed outside to see what the commotion was about but they didn’t see anything. All they heard was another scream in the distance.

Bella had tried to escape but something had caught her attention enough to make her scared.

Jason was eager to see what was bothering her, he looked over at Sam expecting him to share that same concern but Sam was aloof.

He looked unbothered by the situation, looking over at Jason.

"You see? Karma is a thing," Sam said but before he could speak further, they soon found out why she was screaming.

The zombie that Jason had escaped the day prior was marching towards the motel with numerous zombies behind.

"What the fuck is that?" Sam asked casually, he wasn’t worried or threatened by it because he had the necessary weapons to defend himself.

Sam casually walked inside the building to take out a gun, this action prompted the ladies to come out as they wanted to see what he planned.

Sam returned and steadied the gun on the rail, closing one eye.

"Now that is one ugly son of a bitch," Sam joked, no one has seen any zombie-like that before.

"Everyone, go arm yourself," Clementine instructed them and they all rushed into the building, excluding Jason.

Jason knew if Sam saw Bella, he would put a bullet right through her head without hesitation despite what he had just agreed with Clementine.

Sam was proving to be a lot more troublesome than he thought he was but Jason knew deep down that he was right.

Sam looked through his scope but what he saw was liquid shaped in the form of a small ball headed right at him.

Sam had to duck down suddenly as it made contact with the wall behind him, Sam was confused because where the fuck did it come from.

He looked at the wall to observe what it was and noticed that it was bubbling, and it stunk so badly.

"The fuck?" Sam blurted out before returning his attention to the zombie and without using the scope, his accuracy was still dead on.

He blasted a bullet right through the skull of the zombie but it had narrowly missed the brain.

The zombie seemed to perceive this threat as it began releasing these liquids in rapid succession.

Enough to make Sam take cover but not before dragging Jason down with him or the taller man would have been hit.

Jason was confused as to why the zombie could even find them, there shouldn’t be any reason for it to follow them because they hadn’t made any noise loud enough to guarantee such a thing in the first place.

The apocalypse was still in its earlier stage and they encountered problem after problem.

Jason didn’t know how much more he could take but there was something he could do to help Sam and that was use the scanning feature that came with his map to see how many zombies were around them.

"Scan..." Jason thought to himself, permitting Chronos to use this feature and it was a lot worse than he expected.

Jason was shocked by the amount of zombies that were around him, they were a lot.

These people have been dead for quite some time so they should be easy pickings.

"They’re a lot!" Jason informed Sam.

"No shit, Sherlock! That big guy is the bigger problem!" Sam said.

"YOU LADIES STAY INDOORS!" Sam warned; he needed to better understand the situation so he can know how to act accordingly.

"Chronos! How the fuck did it find us?" Jason asked and Chronos was feeling rather chatty today.

[This Specie Of Zombies Have An Interesting Ability, They Follow All That Their Fluids Come In Contact With. You Stepped On It Last Night And That Is How They Found You!]

Jason couldn’t believe that Chronos was just telling him this, what the fuck did the man want from him.

This was information he could have made do with earlier but it was too late now.

Jason was surprised that Sam had a smile across his face, did he enjoy this?

Sam had the training and there was no way a zombie was going to outdo him when it came to combat but this was the first time that he had seen them fight back in this sense.

Sam rolled and just like he expected, the zombie tried to shoot him but Sam was too fast for it to touch him.

The zombie might be shooting these things but it was still mindless when push came to shove and before Jason knew it, Sam had jumped over the rails and landed on the floor.

"H-He is crazy!" Jason thought but this created an opening for Jason to act independently and away from Sam’s watchful eyes.

"Look over here you undead fuckers! Say hello to my little friend!" Sam exclaimed as he let loose, he didn’t aim for the head initially and instead focused his firepower on their bodies.

The bullets tore through them, incapacitating most of them but this was Sam having fun.

The bigger zombie fired multiple spit-shaped projectiles but Sam simply rolled to the side before blowing out the knees of the zombie.

This forced it on the ground and rendered it incapable of moving and a wide grin creased Sam’s face.

The zombie raised its head, trying to spill some of that fluid but before it could, the zombie’s lower jaw was blown off. This rendered it incapable of launching these liquids enough.

The zombie right now was just a random zombie that Sam could kill easily.

"Fuck!" Sam exclaimed as he put the zombie out of its misery with a bullet to the head, shattering it into pieces.

Sam had single-handedly taken out this small horde of zombies.

"It’s safe to come out of hiding now, Jason," Sam said but he got no response.

He tilted his head up and realized that Jason was nowhere to be seen.
