Chapter 223: Jones And Clementine

Chapter 223: Jones And Clementine

Clementine finished eating but she knew that she had to gather more information.

This place was hiding something and for whatever reason, she knew that Anderson was hiding something from her.

"Clementine, are you alright?" Samantha was curious because Clementine’s eyes were constantly darting around for something.

It was like she was scanning the area but Samantha knew that Clementine had eyes that she didn’t possess.

That was how they were able to survive for this long so she knew better than to question Clementine’s instincts.

"There is something strange about this place, I don’t think this is a camp," Clementine said, it felt more like they were keeping them confined as opposed to protecting them.

"What do you mean?" Samantha didn’t understand what she meant by this because this looked like the standard camp.

There was nothing strange about this place, maybe it was Clementine’s paranoia that was getting the best of her.

"Where is he..." Clementine thought to herself and Samantha wondered who she could mean but she knew as soon as she saw the man that had spoken to them at the gate.

"There you are," Clementine muttered, Samantha noticed that the man’s eyes were searching around the room for something.

But his eyes stopped as soon as he met that of Clementine’s as a perverse grin creased his face.

There was no doubt that Clementine foresaw this and that was why she played along, she knew that men were slaves to femininity if a woman should use it as a weapon.

No man could resist and Clementine was about to weaponize it.

"What are you doi-!" Samantha was cut short as Clementine nudged her subtly before getting up.

Samantha looked confused but was Clementine thinking about approaching him?

The soldiers in the room all looked at her, this told Clementine that they weren’t allowed to move freely, she recognized that look in their eyes.

"So it is like that," Clementine thought to herself as she smiled at the man staring right at her.

She knew that he had unaddressed her already in his mind, he was anything but subtle.

"Hey, where are you going?" A soldier appeared in front of her, blocking her path.

"Stand down, she is with me," Jones commanded and this was what Clementine was banking on.

The man looked at Jones and then looked at Clementine but unlike before, his eyes were gentler before a smirk creased his face.

He knew exactly what Jones had in mind, he wanted to fuck her. The man stepped aside and allowed Clementine through.

"Pigs.." Clementine thought but her face didn’t convey what she was feeling, Jones gestured for her to follow him and the soldiers were snickering and leering at her.

This reminded her of that time, the time when she was almost sexually assaulted by her fellow soldiers.

Jones wrapped his arm around her waist and directed her into a room located in the building.

Samantha didn’t know what Clementine was thinking but this was the military, she wasn’t the only one with combat training.

Jason was utterly outplayed by whoever was pulling the strings, he didn’t even know where to begin and the fragment that he could trace was already out of his range.

Jason wondered what he meant, the person referred to a man right before blowing his brains out. It was like they had brought the fragment for Jason to consume.

Jason wondered why they would want him to become stronger and why he was surprised when he consumed that many fragments.

Jason returned outside and consumed the fragment from the man that had shot himself in the head but he questioned what to do with the sword.

Jason decided to keep it because it was an excellent melee weapon but he also realized that it gave off the same energy as an evolved one.

That meant it actively acted as a beacon to zombies and before he knew it, he was surrounded by more than a dozen zombies.

Jason didn’t have time for this and the zombies that were supposedly killed by the man rose from the ground and this confirmed that all this was a ploy.

"They’re working together," Jason came to the realization a little too late.

He picked up the sword from the ground, ready to cut down the zombies that had surrounded him.

If it could slice through his skin that was enhanced by Nexus then there was no way anything could stand in its way.

However, he heard a car approaching, and the engine got closer and closer.

Jason squinted his eyes to see it was the SUV.

"Carl, you son of a bitch," Jason muttered with a relieved facial expression.

He was glad that Carl was alright and moreso, he had provided a means of transportation for them.

"GET IN!" Carl screamed after running over a couple of zombies but Jason knew that if he allowed Carl, he might as well sign his death warrant with how chaotic Carl was driving.

"Scoot!" Jason screamed as the car came to a halt beside him, Carl did just that and the zombies charged at them but they weren’t fast enough.

Jason hit the gas and they were out of there, the speed that the car attained in such a short time made it impossible for even the runners to catch up to them.

"I’m so glad you’re safe! I thought you died!" Carl’s heart was beating, the adrenaline rush he was feeling right now was unlike anything he had ever experienced before.

"You did good kid, leave the rest to me," Jason said. Carl wanted to ask about Dimitris and Glenn but something told him that Jason wasn’t in the mood to talk about it.

"What is this feeling?" Carl thought to himself, it was unlike anything he had ever felt before.

For the first time in his life, Carl was experiencing the killing intent of someone.

Jason was furious and as of this moment, he knew whoever or whatever was behind this.

"I’m going to fucking kill them all..." Jason muttered to himself as the car sped off into the distance.
