Chapter 1140: Sophie’s Scheme
Chapter 1140: Sophie’s Scheme
Watt nodded and held her a little tighter.
Summer Sutton snuggled into his embrace, her face against his chest, listening to his lively and powerful heartbeat, feeling much more at ease.
The two of them just hugged and slept through the night.
The next morning, as Watt opened the door to the room, he saw Sophie Walyon.
Sophie was standing outside the door, seemingly having slept well last night, looking refreshed.
"Morning, Brother Watt!" she greeted him with a smile, and then looked past him at Summer Sutton in the room.
"Morning, sis!" Without a clear view, Watt grabbed her and pushed her out of the room, "This is an adult’s room, kids can’t wander in! Out!"
His action was rough, pushing Sophie away from the doorstep to the stairs.
Sophie was particularly unimpressed by his behavior, touched her nose, and huffed, "It’s not like I haven’t walked in before, what’s the big deal?"
She talked as if she was used to such things, which made Watt hesitate in his steps.
He glanced at Sophie out of the corner of his eye and lightly slapped her head, "You little brat, what do you know?"
He was about to leave, but Sophie abruptly added, "You’re not even jealous! Knowing about Adrian and sis’s past, you’re not jealous at all!"
She seemed pleased, as if she’d discovered something remarkable, smiling playfully at Watt.
Watt stood still, seemingly dumbfounded for a few seconds.
Dang, he fell for this kid’s trick!
That little rascal is testing him!
Watt stayed silent for a moment after Sophie spoke, turned his face around, and expressionlessly said, "Kids don’t understand anything. Don’t worry about adult affairs."
Without paying further attention to her, Watt returned to the room.
As he entered, Summer Sutton had already finished getting ready.
Watt opened her wardrobe and, despite the hot weather, picked out a long-sleeve dress for her, nudged her into the bathroom to change.
He’s always concerned about this, and whenever Sophie visits, regardless of her age, he makes sure Summer Sutton is thoroughly covered.
He’s that domineering, and Summer even wonders if they ever have a son, whether she’ll have to wear long sleeves at home all the time when the child turns three or four.
Although perplexed by Watt’s insistence, she still changed into the dress he chose.
Afterwards, Summer prepared a simple breakfast, which the three of them enjoyed together.
Sophie liked clinging to Watt; wherever he walked, she’d follow like a shadow, never leaving his side.
She even squeezed into the car when Watt was about to head to Shining Sky, wanting to go along.
Watt’s current identity had nothing to do with her, so before heading to the company, he took a detour to drop her off at the Walyon Family.
Arriving at the Walyon Family entrance, he directly let Sophie out of the car, "I have to go to work, can’t hang out with you, see ya!"
Leaving those words behind, Watt started the car and drove off.
Inside the Walyon mansion, Ryan Walyon happened to walk out.
Seeing the scene, he hesitated.
"Where did you go last night?" he asked, turning his gaze toward Sophie.
Sophie paused for a moment, her mind working quickly, "Went to see my sis, haven’t seen her in a while."
Ryan merely paused for a second, didn’t ask further.
It’s not unusual for Sophie to look for Summer Sutton.
