Chapter 762: Soul Energy
Chapter 762: Soul Energy
She turned her head, surprised.
The question sat several ranks above his current knowledge about powers and ranks, yet she did not ask how he knew.
Although he’d been in Kyle’s Soul Realm, there was no way he would know about the energy, unless something or someone told him and she sure hadn’t.
She filed it, as she had filed dozens of similar moments in the past three months, under the quiet ledger entry the master’s ancient system has informed him.
The system, in her private understanding, was doing the work of an entire Tiamat tutor-staff, and she was not inclined to look its gift horse in the mouth.
"Soul Energy," she said carefully, voice measured like a blade held just above skin, "is an Energy that can only be manipulated after a person reaches the Divine Realm. I told you about those realms right?
Phei nodded, she’d indeed told him but not as much as the system just revealed to him... she didn’t know he know more though.
"Okay, so even then, after you reach the Divine Realm, only a Divine Lord rank beings and above can manipulate it — and only after they have created their own Soul Realm (there are three levels above Divine Lord namely: Demigod, Divine Being, Saint. So these beings have to cultivate their powers until they achieve Divine Lord to start to create their Soul Realm.
"Once the Soul Realm is complete, one can now begin cultivating and harnessing other Energies beyond Mana... most importantly that’s the Soul Energy." What she didn’t tell him, was that some people even become World Transcendent (like Consort) before their Soul Realm is complete: and one can’t become a Lesser God being without their complete Soul Realm.
It was impossible!
Phei tilted his head, the imperial robe shifting with the motion like liquid night poured over living marble.
"Hmm~" His pause was heavy and deliberate.
"So — like in the novels."
She laughed. Couldn’t help it. The sound escaped before her usual composure could intercept it — a bright crack that echoed across the black-white ice cathedral hollow like a bell struck in a tomb.
"Yes master," she said, recovering, the laugh still dancing at the edges of her voice, "but more practical and more literal. The novels exaggerate the speed and the ease. Cultivating and harnessing these Energies is difficult. It takes a great deal of time to draw the energies of heaven and earth into your vessel and seat them properly.
"You will find the process tedious. You will find it slow and deeply annoying. But you will have to do it — actively, with discipline — if you want to climb the rank ladder."
"It’s not simple," she added, watching him with those dark-diamond eyes that had seen empires rise and fall like bad jokes.
He shrugged, the wide sleeves of the hanfu cascading in perfect, arrogant folds.
"Then I prefer dual cultivation."
Eira’s expression went very still.
"Master."
"What."
"That is not something you can ever get."
He blinked once, slow and regal, as though the universe had just told him a mildly disappointing weather report.
"What? Why?"
"Dual cultivation," she said carefully, each word weighed like a death sentence, "is a forbidden and destroyed path of cultivating and harnessing. It no longer exists. The realms and beings that created it and supported it were unmade in an event no living being is permitted to discuss in any detail, and the surviving texts describing the technique have been hunted down across nine thousand years by a coalition of high-tier cultivators who consider its eradication a sacred duty.
"There is no version of dual cultivation available to you. Not even the most powerful Primordials have those techniques!"
He clicked his tongue, the sound sharp and amused in the frozen silence.
"Such a shame, right?"
She laughed again. Her master had taken a piece of cosmic-wide disappointment with the same shrug he reserved for missed restaurant reservations.
There was, also the matter of the cultivation technique itself, which she could discuss with him, and the matter of talent for cultivation, which she could not — but she would address those matters later.
For now, her master sat at Master Rank of the Mortal Realm, and would not progress further without active cultivation technique.
Ah, those primordials made everything about them, huh?
"You will not progress further without cultivating," she said.
"I know."
"You will need a technique."
"You’ll provide it."
"And a talent."
"I have one."
She did not, this time, correct him.
He was — she suspected, though it was not yet confirmed — probably not wrong.
"Later," he said. "After I finish here."
Because —

The full ladder unfolded across his inner vision in unhurried processional, every rank rendered in blue text and patience, each one a mountain he had not yet climbed and yet already felt beneath his feet like conquered ground.
Phei’s eyes tracked it, slow and predatory.
Five down. Sixty-something to go. Not difficult at all.
He whistled quietly through his teeth.
The actual scope of the road had just been laid out before him, and he had not, in any meaningful way, flinched.
Then—
[Ding! New Element Awakened: PRIMORDIAL BLOOD.]
[Host — brace...]
The cathedral hollow answered before the system could finish its warning.
A deep, primordial pulse rolled outward from Phei’s chest — not cold, not ice, but something older, something that remembered the birth of blood itself. The black-white ice already blanketing the hollow trembled, then sang, every flake and shard vibrating in perfect resonance as the new element woke and claimed its throne beside the Void-Ice.
The air itself thickened, heavy with the scent of ancient iron and star-forged marrow.
Phei smiled — slow, dark, and utterly unafraid.
The Cosmic Dragon had just grown another set of teeth.
The Primordial Blood!
