I Rule Fortune-Telling Livestreams

Chapter 211: Don’t Clash with Scum

Chapter 211: Don’t Clash with Scum

The police were asking for the location of the incident. Where was Spirit Jade from? What was her name?

These comments were quickly buried by new ones.

This time, Shen Zhiyao chose not to relay Spirit Jade’s information via private message. Instead, she publicly announced Spirit Jade’s real name and home address.

After listening quietly, Spirit Jade asked with some curiosity, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll run away?"

"You won’t run. Your lifeline has been severed!" Shen Zhiyao said, looking at Spirit Jade with pity. "If you hadn’t happened to stumble upon my stream and become interested, you would have already turned yourself in. Asking me for a way out was just a pretense. What you really wanted was to tell your story through me! You just want parents everywhere to take this as a cautionary tale, to keep other children from going down the same path as you."

"That’s right!" Spirit Jade exhaled, as if a great weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

She had agonized all night over whether to turn herself in.

’Now, it’s actually a relief that someone is pushing things forward for me.’

At that moment, the excited viewers began to chime in impatiently:

[Didn’t you say she has a lot of blood on her hands? Is there more to the story?]

[Host, don’t stop! Keep going!]

Shen Zhiyao didn’t delay and continued the story. "After killing that woman, you threw away your blood-stained coat and got on a random bus. As you sat there, you couldn’t stop shaking. You felt exhausted, much like you did after killing your mother, right?"

Spirit Jade nodded slightly. "Yes, it was quite similar."

Shen Zhiyao continued, "But a few stops later, you saw an older woman on the bus. You wanted to get up to give her your seat, but you found your legs were too weak to stand."

"When the woman saw you weren’t getting up, she kept pestering you to give her the seat, lecturing you about respecting your elders. You couldn’t be bothered to argue, so you lied and told her you were seriously ill and had just left the hospital. Seeing that you were, in fact, trembling, she realized she couldn’t guilt-trip you from her moral high ground. So, muttering curses, she moved to another spot."

"Later, a woman carrying a child got on the bus. Seeing her struggling, you gave her your seat.

"The older woman from before saw this and flew into a rage, launching a vicious personal attack on you. She called you a liar, said you had no manners, that you were ’fathered but not mothered.’ Everyone on the bus was staring. You were so furious you wanted to finish her off right then and there. Fortunately, a man stood up and offered the woman his seat, which finally shut her up."

"Then, you followed that woman off the bus. As you passed a recycling station, you picked up a hammer and sent her on her way, too."

"With this third life on your hands, you weren’t so scared anymore. In fact, you felt you were carrying out heaven’s will, cleaning up the dregs of society!"

Spirit Jade frowned. "And wasn’t I? Are you saying that kind of old woman didn’t deserve to die?"

"I can only say she wasn’t a decent human being." Shen Zhiyao didn’t want to dwell on the topic. After that brief reply, she continued:

"After that, you changed clothes on the street and bought a hat. Then you went to a barbecue joint. As you were finishing your meal, you saw two drunkards crudely harassing another woman who was also alone. When she stood up to resist, one of them stabbed her. Then they started dragging her out of the restaurant, and not a single person there dared to stop them."

"They were shouting, ’Anyone who interferes gets killed!’ and that thoroughly terrified everyone."

"That woman was lucky. She ran into you, someone who isn’t afraid to die. You figured a hammer wouldn’t be enough for two drunk men, so you ran into the kitchen and grabbed a cleaver. As the two men were spouting obscenities and dragging the woman toward their car, you charged and began slashing at them wildly. One died instantly. You tackled the other as he tried to run, pinned him to the ground, and hacked at him until he was not only dead, but faceless. Afterwards, you went back into the restaurant, paid your bill, packed up your leftover skewers, and rode a shared bike home."

"After that, you didn’t dare go out again, afraid you would kill more people on impulse."

"When you got back, you stayed in the living room, watching over your mother’s body. You spent the whole day watching variety shows and stream replays. When night fell, you packed some things, ready to test your luck. You would run if you could, and if you couldn’t, you would turn yourself in."

"But before you left, you thought of me, and you tried to get on my stream. Luckily for you, you were chosen. How did I do, Spirit Jade? Was I right?"

"Yes!" Spirit Jade affirmed. Then she turned to the audience and said earnestly, "There are over a million people in this stream right now. I hope you all will share clips of this broadcast. Let everyone know how they should act as a human being. Otherwise, the consequence is death!"

She bit out that last sentence, her expression chilling.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—

At that moment, a frantic knocking echoed from the door. Spirit Jade panicked for a second, but a glance at her mother’s body on the floor quickly calmed her.

Taking a deep breath, she picked up her phone and went to open the door, assuming it was the police.

The viewers on the stream also thought the police had arrived.

But when she opened the door, she saw her father, his face fraught with anxiety and beaded with sweat.

She asked in astonishment, "Dad?"

"You fool, run! What are you doing watching a live stream!" the man scolded, hastily shoving a phone into her hand. "Take this phone. The SIM card is untraceable, so it’s safe to use. I’ve put in the numbers of a few of my sworn brothers. If you get into trouble out there, call them."

"Dad!" Spirit Jade’s eyes instantly reddened.

"Go, quickly! It’s my fault, I’m sorry. I didn’t stop your mother... that madwoman... in time." The man’s eyes also reddened, his heart filled with guilt.

Just then, a team of police officers appeared, splitting into two groups from the elevator and the stairwell, cutting off all escape routes. They quickly apprehended the father and daughter.

The first young officer to enter the apartment shouted, "Captain, there’s a body in the living room!"

Because Spirit Jade was still clutching her phone, the viewers couldn’t see much of what was happening, but they heard every sound perfectly.

The last thing everyone saw was the stern face of a police officer as he ended the connection.

Even after the connection was cut, the viewers, still buzzing with excitement, kept the chat flooding with comments:

[This host is incredible! It felt like watching a thriller. This is more exciting than going to the movies!]

[This stream is amazing! As expected of a show hand-picked by the Qing Qing Wo Wo production team, it’s just fantastic!]

[I feel like Spirit Jade was a bit dumb. Couldn’t she have just disowned her mother?]

The viewers in the stream found it all quite thrilling and interesting, though they pitied Spirit Jade. ’What a waste! Such a pretty girl!’

Shen Zhiyao, however, only felt a sense of regret. "Did everyone notice? Spirit Jade has a very youthful face. She looks younger than she actually is."

The viewers were puzzled, not understanding why Shen Zhiyao would bring that up.

[Host, have you run out of things to say? Why mention she looks young? That’s kind of weird.]

Shen Zhiyao explained, "Because she was originally fated to live a long life. If she hadn’t let impulse cloud her judgment and had just lived peacefully... If she had just endured for a few more years, she would have met a man who would have been very good to her, and also very capable. That man would have been able to put Spirit Jade’s mother so thoroughly in her place that the woman wouldn’t have dared to utter a peep."

"So, everyone, don’t be impulsive when you run into trouble. And never, ever think about throwing your life away to deal with toxic people. Doing your best to get away from them is always the best solution!"

"It’s not worth throwing your life away over someone like that."

Because of Shen Zhiyao’s words, the viewers who had been swept up in the emotion of the moment and supported Spirit Jade’s actions gradually began to calm down.
