Chapter 504: The Cellar
Chapter 504: The Cellar
Hearing Xu Xiangbei’s sarcasm, Xiao Bai gave him a sidelong glance, playfully scolding, "Stop worrying about things that don’t concern you and park the car a bit further from my house."
Xu Xiangbei curiously asked, "Your house has such a big yard, why not let me park the car inside?"
Xiao Bai’s face involuntarily reddened; luckily, it was dark, so Xu Xiangbei couldn’t see her blush. She mumbled almost inaudibly, "Hehe, I’m just used to it. Wherever I go, I always find an escape route. It’s the same at home."
Xu Xiangbei had a sudden realization, "So, during the explosion, when you escaped through the restroom window in the theater, was that your pre-planned escape route?"
"Wow, you’re really smart. You’ve figured out yet another of my little secrets."
Xu Xiangbei grinned mischievously, "I’m not interested in those little secrets of yours, but I’m very interested in the little secrets of your body... hehe..."
Smack! Xiao Bai lightly patted Xu Xiangbei’s shoulder wound, causing him almost to cry out in pain, "Why are you randomly hitting? I’m injured there."
Xiao Bai pouted slightly, "Hmph, I knew you were hurt there, that’s why I did it. Does it hurt? That’ll teach you for talking nonsense and bullying me without a filter."
Xu Xiangbei deliberately put on a very pained expression, "It hurts a lot, you hit too hard."
Seeing Xu Xiangbei’s seemingly pained expression, Xiao Bai felt a bit regretful and compassionately said, "Sorry, I thought you were tough and wouldn’t mind the pain."
Xu Xiangbei secretly chuckled to himself but put on an unhappy face, "You hit my wound, making it split open again. Is a simple ’sorry’ enough? No way, you need to compensate me."
Xiao Bai blinked her big eyes and asked, "How do you want me to compensate you?"
"Let me take a look in your boudoir."
Xiao Bai’s eyes turned as she thought it was no big deal to let Xu Xiangbei see her room since he was already there, "Alright, to compensate you, I’ll let you take a look at my room."
Entering Xiao Bai’s boudoir, a familiar perfume scent wafted through the air, a fragrance Xu Xiangbei might never forget. During the night when they embraced tightly, hiding under the table, it was this perfume that acted like an aphrodisiac, making Xu Xiangbei’s heart race and burning with desire as he kissed Xiao Bai.
Xu Xiangbei immediately noticed the "Nine Cats" painting hanging on Xiao Bai’s wall.
The nine lifelike little cats, each with different expressions, looked adorable.
The majestic little tabby sitting on the tree looked like a colorful little tiger.
The little white cat playing by the water was pure white like snow, pure like jade, its pair of emerald eyes shimmering like luminous pearls illuminated by the moonlight.
Each cat in the "Nine Cats" painting was drawn vividly, representing a precious rare breed.
Xu Xiangbei quietly admired the "Nine Cats" painting. At the museum that day, he didn’t realize its value and couldn’t understand why the painting was rumored to be worth millions.
Only at night did he discover the painting’s true worth. Cats are nocturnal animals, and the "Nine Cats" painting could only be truly appreciated under the moonlight.
Noticing Xu Xiangbei staring intently at the painting, Xiao Bai teased with a smile, "What are you looking at so intently? Is this painting more attractive than me?"
Xu Xiangbei sneered, "A painting can’t compare to a person. Even though this is a valuable artwork worth millions, it can’t match the beauty of a pretty girl, let alone the loveliness of Xiao Bai."
Xiao Bai was amused by Xu Xiangbei’s flattery, giggling, "Such sweet talk, no wonder Sister Jeanie likes you. After just a few days with you, I like you too."
Xiao Bai changed into an outfit looking like a protective chemical suit made of raincoat material. Xu Xiangbei laughed, "Why are you wearing that? Afraid of getting blood on it?"
"Exactly, if you end up torturing someone until they’re a bloody mess, what if it gets on my clothes? I’ve already ruined one set of clothes tonight. Even though my clothes aren’t expensive, I’m still reluctant to lose them."
"What’s there to be afraid of? If you can’t wash out the bloodstains, just buy a new one. I ruined your clothes tonight, so how about I buy you a better-looking set another day?"
Hearing Xu Xiangbei say he would be willing to buy her new clothes, Xiao Bai laughed happily. Like most girls, she loved shopping for pretty new clothes, and Xiao Bai was no exception.
Leaving Xiao Bai’s boudoir, Xu Xiangbei followed her to a blue iron sheet house at the back of the yard, a warehouse stacked with goods.
Inside the iron sheet house was a cellar. When the cellar door was opened, a chilling wind blew out.
Staring into the dark cellar, Xu Xiangbei skeptically asked, "The cellar is so eerie. Are you luring me here to imprison me and make me your pet?"
Xiao Bai rolled her eyes at Xu Xiangbei, "With your looks, wanting to be my pet? I’m not interested. Are you scared? If you’re scared, don’t come down."
At the cellar entrance, Xiao Bai clapped her hands, triggering the sensor lights inside, which lit up with the vibration.
The soft lights illuminated the stairs as Xiao Bai led Xu Xiangbei into the cellar, closing the heavy cellar door behind them.
Xu Xiangbei grinned wickedly, "As expected from someone in the shady business, having a cellar hidden inside the house. If you hid someone here, even if they shouted until their voice broke, no one would know."
Xiao Bai sneered contemptuously, "If you’re afraid, it’s not too late to turn back now. In a little while, you won’t have that option."
Xu Xiangbei playfully quipped, "Dying under the peony flower, even as a ghost, you’re still charming. Being locked up here by you, Xiao Bai, and treated as a pet, hehe, I’m willing."
Suddenly, angry curses echoed from inside. The skinny killer was chained to the wall.
The cellar truly resembled a dungeon for holding prisoners, with iron frames embedded in the walls, chaining people in a way that made escape impossible.
The tall, skinny man, with an angry face, cursed loudly, "You bastards, let me go, or when my brothers find you, you’re dead!"
Xu Xiangbei laughed, pulling out his phone to snap a photo of the skinny man, "Smile, make it look good. This photo will be for your obituary later."
Xu Xiangbei noticed that his phone had no signal in the cellar, which relieved him a bit, worried someone like Liu Ningyan, a hacker, might use a phone to locate them.
Xiao Bai disdainfully sneered, "Skinny, give up hope. This place is secluded. No one will hear you no matter how loud you shout. Even if I chop you to bits and feed you to the dogs, no one will know."
The skinny man fell silent. Earlier he had tried shouting for help, but outside was completely silent, realizing Xiao Bai wasn’t bluffing him.
Xiao Bai said to Xu Xiangbei, "I’ll leave him to you. I can’t bear to watch people suffer. I’ll head up first. Is half an hour enough for you?"
Xu Xiangbei chuckled, "It won’t take that long, five minutes should do."
