Chapter 814: Taming the Void Gu P2
Chapter 814: Taming the Void Gu P2
"...Hmm?"
Aksai slowly looked down at his hand. The skin where several Void Gu had landed was disappearing.
Not burning. Not melting. It was erased from existence. Or rather, it didn’t exist in the same plane Aksai was in.
The epidermis on his fingers vanished first, exposing the flesh beneath. Then more skin disappeared from his hand. Then his wrist. Then parts of his arm. The process spread slowly across his body wherever the Void Gu gathered.
Within moments, Aksai’s appearance became horrifying. Large patches of exposed flesh could now be seen across his arms, neck, and face.
Yet strangely enough, there was no blood. And more importantly, no pain.
Aksai frowned slightly while observing the changes carefully.
"I still can’t feel anything..."
Yelia finally became genuinely frightened.
"My liege, stop immediately!"
Her voice trembled slightly.
She quickly activated the powers of the Enchanted Everwood Farm instinctively. Soft green light spread around the platform as she tried to pull the Void Gu away from Aksai. She also used the devouring method, summoning the pitch black tentacles made of spatial powers to forcefully pull the Void Gu away from Aksai.
But nothing happened. The Void Gu completely ignored her influence.
Yelia’s face paled slightly.
’What... What should I do? Should I wake the elder sister up? This... this is beyond my powers.’
She looked increasingly alarmed.
Meanwhile, more and more Void Gu gathered on Aksai’s body. The azure glow around him became brighter and brighter.
At this point, parts of his body already looked extremely hideous. Large portions of skin had vanished completely.
Yet Aksai still did not move. Nor did he stop.
"My liege!" Yelia pleaded again. "Please stop this before it becomes irreversible!"
But Aksai slowly shook his head.
"You don’t understand, Yelia dear. There’s still no hostility. So calm down and let me do what I want to do."
Yelia looked stunned hearing that.
Aksai’s eyes quietly observed the countless Void Gu crawling over his exposed flesh. His druidic perception remained active the entire time. And that perception had never betrayed him before.
Not once.
If the Void Gu truly wished to kill him, his instincts should have sensed danger already. But they did not. Instead, he strangely felt calm.
As though the Void Gu viewed him as something or someone they can make use of rather than prey. It was a strange feeling. Aksai felt like the Void Gu wanted him to fulfil their singular wish born out of their mixed consciousness.
Aksai slowly inhaled. Even though his appearance now looked horrifying, he continued trusting his instincts. Deep inside his heart, he felt that stopping now would mean missing an opportunity that might never appear again in his entire cultivation journey.
The countless Void Gu swam through Aksai’s exposed flesh like tiny streams of azure starlight.
At first, they only clung to the surface of his body. They moved slowly across his muscles, bones, and blood vessels like drifting dust inside the night sky. But gradually, the glowing particles started sinking deeper.
Then they disappeared completely. Yelia’s face instantly changed.
"My liege!"
Her voice carried genuine panic now.
"They entered your body!"
Aksai’s breathing suddenly became heavier. The next moment, he felt it. His Spirit Essence started disappearing rapidly.
It was not leaking outside. It was being consumed directly from inside his Spirit Core. The Void Gu had spread throughout his Spirit Veins and started feeding on his cultivation energy greedily. They didn’t have the dimensional restrictions of ordinary lifeforms.
Whoooom!
His Spirit Core began spinning violently inside his Dantian. The smooth flow of Spirit Essence immediately became chaotic. Streams of spiritual power rushed through his meridians in unstable waves.
Aksai’s expression tightened slightly. This situation was dangerous. Very dangerous. If this continued unchecked, his Spirit Essence reserves would be emptied completely.
Yelia became even more anxious after sensing the unstable changes inside his body.
"My liege, stop immediately! Force them out before your foundation collapses!"
But Aksai did not panic. His eyes remained calm.
Because he could still sense the emotions coming from the Void Gu through his Beast Taming blessing. There was still no hostility. Only hunger.
Pure instinctive hunger. And underneath that hunger, a strange yearning.
Aksai slowly inhaled. Then his body cultivation path activated.
Golden light erupted beneath his skin.
Aurous Qi surged throughout his body like flowing molten gold. The powerful energy of the Body Cultivation Path immediately spread into his flesh, bones, organs, and blood.
The reaction came instantly. The Void Gu started feeding on the Aurous Qi as well.
Tiny azure lights hidden inside his body suddenly gained streaks of golden brilliance. The countless particles became even brighter than before.
Aksai could feel them trembling in excitement. It was as if starving creatures had suddenly found a second source of food.
His Aurous Qi reserves also started decreasing rapidly.
"Interesting. They are consuming all three cultivation paths one after another!"
Aksai narrowed his eyes slightly. Then he activated the third path. His Mind Palace trembled lightly.
Purple Aether Essence slowly flowed outward from his Mind Cultivation Path. The mysterious energy spread throughout his consciousness before entering every corner of his body.
The reaction this time was even stronger. The Void Gu became wildly active. Azure light. Golden light. Purple light.
The three colors mixed together inside Aksai’s body like a galaxy made of living stars.
The tiny creatures greedily devoured the Aether Essence as well. And as they consumed it, something changed. The blurry emotions inside their consciousness slowly became clearer.
Aksai suddenly started understanding them better. Tiny fragmented thoughts flowed into his mind continuously through the Beast Taming blessing.
Broken thoughts. Chaotic emotions. Countless voices mixed together. Yet all of them carried the same wish.
To exist.
To become real.
Aksai’s eyes widened slightly.
He finally understood. The Void Gu were not trying to kill him. They were trying to complete themselves.
All living beings wished to live. That instinct never truly disappeared.
Even after death.
The countless dead beings of the Dadangar World eventually dissolved into the fabric of time and space itself. Their broken consciousness mixed together over countless years. Those fragments eventually became the Void Gu.
Tiny consciousness born from shattered spatial laws and lingering remnants of life itself.
Naturally—
They inherited the deepest instinct of all living beings. The wish to live again. The wish to become whole again. The wish to exist properly.
Aksai slowly muttered under his breath.
"So these little guys have a very simple wish- want to live."
